HYDERABAD: The heavy downpour on Saturday plunged many parts of the city into darkness, with power lines breaking through falling trees and branches.
In several parts of the city, power outages lasted between two and four hours, disrupting the home work of several professionals and patient care in hospitals.
Seethphalmandi, Ayyappa Society, Peerzadaguda, Lingamally, Moti Nagar, Musheerabad, Ramanthapur and Ghatkesar were among the hardest hit areas in the city.
Officials and workers at Telangana State Southern Power Distribution Company Limited (TSSPDCL) were kept busy throughout the day with up to 172 complaints of tripping feeders. Parts of the Golconda area saw no power from noon until late at night.
The disco authorities said that the power supply was restored in most areas at 7 p.m., while the supply was via alternative feed lines.
