Citrix Systems, Inc. and Google Cloud are expanding their partnership to support the future of hybrid work for enterprise customers by introducing a new Desktop-as-a-Service (DaaS) offering on Google Cloud.
The service will leverage the management plane and market-leading HDX protocol from Citrix to enable seamless delivery of virtualized applications and desktops in the Google Cloud.
The expanded partnership will enable distributed and hybrid employees to securely access the tools and information they need to get involved and be productive wherever they are, the vendors said.
“Companies no longer struggle with whether to accept remote work, but rather how quickly and efficiently they can do it,” said Tim Minahan, executive vice president of business strategy, Citrix. “Through this partnership with Google Cloud, we will help our customers to accelerate and implement hybrid working models with new virtual desktop services in the global and secure network of Google Cloud.”
Under the terms of an extended agreement:
- Citrix becomes a preferred and strategic virtual desktop service partner of Google Cloud
- Google becomes a preferred and strategic cloud partner for Citrix
- Citrix will build a foundation of its cloud services on top of Google Cloud, starting with a management layer specially developed by Citrix that enables cloud-hosted desktops to stream any application on any endpoint device
“For teams to thrive in a distributed environment, they need easy, fast, and secure access to applications and workspaces from virtually anywhere,” said Kevin Ichhpurani, corporate vice president, global ecosystem, Google Cloud. “We are excited to partner with Citrix to help organizations long-term support of low-latency remote work and trusted access to desktops and applications across all types of devices, endpoints and work environments.”
